1. Social network – Social Networking allows people to speak to each other across the world. Examples would be Facebook or Instagram these apps tend to remain the primary source of communication and entertainment for many people.
2. Blogging and publishing networks – Blogging and publishing networks are where people post their blogs and read other people's blogs too such as other publishers. Examples would be Blogger or WordPress.org, these sites tend to be the most popular for blogs.
3. Messaging Apps – Messaging Apps are dedicatedly created for messaging; Example’s would be such apps as WhatsApp or Telegram these apps have a sole purpose for messaging.
4. Photo / Media Sharing Forums – These platforms are exclusively for photo or video sharing; Example’s would be YouTube or Pinterest platforms like these help you find like-minded people with similar interests.
5. Discussion Forums – Discussion forums were created just to transfer knowledge, example’s such as Quora or Reddit are more like question and answering games with strangers.
6. Bookmarking Platforms – These platforms allow users to find and engage in content that they like, examples such as Twitter / X or StumbleUpon allow you to bookmark your suggestions on this, which helps you find similar interests.
7. Review Networks - Review networks are platforms where people post reviews of their experiences, be it a product, service or a place, examples are such as Trustpilot or Mouthshut these kinds of platforms are growing enormously because of the growth of the internet and people’s curiosity to know more.
8. Social Shopping Networks - These social shopping networks are primarily known as Demand Fulfilment Platforms, examples are Amazon or Flipkart, these platforms allow users to purchase and sell products. People can search for random things and still find it on sites like these.
9. Audio Apps - Audio apps are more like your telephonic conversation but on a larger network and are internet-activated, examples such as Discord or Clubhouse and using these apps, you can have one on one conversations or have group connections with huge crowds.
10. Anonymous networks - Anonymous networks will keep you anonymous while you post your thoughts on public space, examples are Whisper or Secret these platforms are for people who are not comfortable exposing themselves on the web. Children under the age of 16 are not advised for these apps because of their inappropriateness at times.
